At ABC our goal is to make church not about us.
Our church is not about the Pastor or the preferences of the congregation. It is simply to proclaim the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and to make Him known.
For this reason, our church's mission statement is:
Loving God, Loving Others Serving Both
That is what we are all about.
In Matthew 22 Jesus was confronted by three different questions that were meant to entangle Him in His talk. The last of these questions came from a lawyer saying "Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."
At Astatula Baptist our focus is "On these two commandments" and our church is made of people who are learning how to Love God, Love Others and Serve Both.
We believe that as we as individuals make this our focus it will change the church collectively.
We at Astatula Baptist Church are not perfect, but The One we serve is!
